Afterwork Gbrier Short Trip - June 4th, 2026

I fished a couple quick hours on the Gbrier after work on hot, muggy evening. The bite was good early for small bass then tapered off some. The fish were really only relating to shallow water and shallow ledges. Not much activity deeper than 3 feet or so. Typical post spawn pattern before they all spread out for the summer pattern. I didn't catch any giants or have any near misses.

Total Fish = 23
Biggest Fish = 13.5"
Best 5 Fish = 60.25"
Minutes Per Fish = 4.65

Post Spawn Numbers - June 1st, 2026

After a week layoff due to high water Sean and I floated the New as the water was falling back into normal flows. The bite was really good but it was difficult to find any size. The fish were in a typical post spawn pattern. Fish congretaged up shallow and feeding. I think our number for a four hour float were very solid and could have been even better had we not spent a big chunck of the evening battling the westbound upriver wind. I ended up with 70 and Sean caught 37. Typical June fun on the New.

Total Fish = 70
Biggest Fish = 14.75"
Best 5 Fish =  64.25"
Minutes per Fish = 3.3
2026 Total Fish = 662
2026 Miles Floated = 103.29
