Rainbows and Baseball- April 16th, 2025

This windy cool April day started off on Anthony Creek, went through various parts of Knapps, led to lunch at Greenbrier Diner in Marlinton, had a drive through tour of Smoke Hole, which led up to watching Cole pitching a winning game and driving in three runs, all to return home 16ish hours after I departed.

Blown Away April 15th, 2025

On day that was cut short by 40 mph Gail force wind at lunch time, Greg and I only managed to catch a am  as lmb, a small brown fish, and a Striper each for a total of 6 fish, Colt and Brad did not catch anything and decided to call it and head home to make his baseball game. Trip was still fun but weather made chasing bass seem like a chore, I am dying for 70 degree water and shallow bass that will chase flukes at will.

No County For Young Men - April 14th, 2025

Despite the air temps picking up the bit did not, it somehow got tougher. I did manage a 21” 4lbs fish off of a fluke. I saw him come up and smoke the fluke which was the highlight of the trip, I threw the fluke for three more hours after and did not even get a follow. Greg caught two and had theee bites. I lost one and caught one. As tough as it gets

Post Cold Front Smith Mountain Sunday - April 13, 2025

Brad, Colt, Greg and I got to Smith Mountain on the last day of the massive Cabelas Bog Bass Tournament on the take end of a week long cold front. The water temperature had dropped about 7 degrees of the course of the previous week setting the stage for some brutally hard fishing,
Greg caught one right off and two more, I caught five most on a suspending MegaBass on a long point, tough day is fishing, Brad and Colt did not get a bite. Really tough day.
