Blackjack Saturday - April 20th, 2024

Stan and I hit Clayor on a busy tournament Saturday that had an incoming cold front with some mild wind. Fished from 7am to 1pm. We boated five species and 21 fish total. Stan caught 8 and I caught 13 all on chartreuse flukes worked very slow or even dead stick on secondary drops.Biggest  was a 2lbs lmb. 
Place was busy but prefrontal fish weee active. 

Stiper Bonanza - April 17th, 2024

We started to the river and after only three small fish in first three hours we decided thankfully to flip the lake and run down the lake towards the dam. Not only did we find cleaner water and bass willing to chase we also found strippers smashing flukes. We ended the day when 22 bass and 5 Stripers(3lbs, 6lbs, 7lbs, and 17lbs) Brad’s monster was an adventure in and of itself 

Smith Mountain Lake Day Zero - April 16th, 2024

Brad and I fished Smith Mountain for the first time from 8am to 5pm. We launched out of Oak Grove. Fished up and down the lake. Water was 65 degrees. We caught 18, I had 12, Brad had 6. All came off Fluke and jig on wood or rock between docks in or around secondary points. Not a lot happening on main lake. 

Fish Lab Day 2 - April 15th, 2024

Avery and I fished Lake’s pond on as pretty of an April evening as could be imagined. Avery was learning to fish a Necko rigged senko and I was doing further testing on Maggie (Magdraft) that is now One Eyed Maggie because the bass have knocked one of her eyes off.  It was a good evening, Avery caught 8 and I caught 10. 

Fish Lab - April 14th, 2024

Went to the Massie pond to do some experimenting with the Mag Draft, a new color of Jack Hammer, snd a necko rigged Senko. All three performed well, had some smaller fish short stroke the Mag Draft. But it also produced the biggest bite if the day. “Maggie” seems to have a lot of potential. Next stop Smith Mountain Lake. 

Main Lake Tough - April 10th, 2024

We ran to Bull Falls early and it seemed like it was gonna be great, I caught 2 on a fluke right off even though Clayor was pushing some water. Fished up to Buffalo and nothing. Fished below the cliff and picked up two more including one spot nothing big. Went down of fished main lake for two more hours with no bites. Greg nor Stan for a bite. Tried Ned, hula, square bull and nothing. Water was 56 degrees. Better luck next time. 

Post Cold Front Single - April 7th, 2024

The day after. Cold front cleared out I waded around below the dam for an hour or so after Church. I flipped a hula grub in any slack water I could find. I had one bite and caught one fish, 

Incoming Cold Front - April 3rd, 2024

I waded below the dam for two hours before a pretty severe rain and cold front that brought a lot of wind. I caught one on. Black tube and three more on a hula grub, I threw a smoke g tail for awhile but had no hits. I snagged  a couple carp but it was short lived. After two hours the wind was taking over,
