Striper at Dusk - May 23rd, 2024

Afternoon at Claytor. I caught a nice smallmouth right off, then a monsoon, then struggling to catch anything, then went in a run of solid fish, then closed the day out with a 13 pound home run of a Striper.

Big Rock Lake - May 14th, 2024

I caught 36 in 3.75 hours fishing solo at the Big Rock. Sad part is I fished very sloppy, I missed or lost several high quality fish for no good reason. Minutes per fish 6.25

Whopper Plopper Morning - May 14th, 2024

Stan, Greg, and I footed 5.5 miles from the dam to Southside over 4.5 hours. Greg caught 25, I caught 24, and Stan caught 4 but had the biggest at 17”. Fish were on a plopper more than a fluke today. Some in hula grub. Bite died early around 9:30 when Corps cut water level.  Minutes per fish for me for the day were 11.3 minutes per fish.

Mike’s New Ride - May 11th, 2024

Mike along with his new SC themed yak floated 8
miles from daylight till 1:30pm.  Falling water and a minor cold front made the bit a little slower and moved the fish out toward the deeper water compared  to last Wednesday. I managed 50 and didn’t get a solid count on Mike but he did well. I had caught twi 18” fish and another that was 16”. Still a great day. Mike did well with his new boat.
